Meet the Artist
Natalie Drummond is an educator and fiber artisan living in Fremont, Indiana. Born and raised in Virginia, she developed a love of science, teaching, and fiber. Her earlier work focused on sewing (Singer Sewing Machine Manager 1992) and needlefelting. She later learned to weave from a Fort Wayne Weaver’s Guild instructor. Fine Arts instruction in Craftmanship and Design coursework from Purdue (Fort Wayne) University followed in 2015. Natalie has pursued weaving, color, and ice dyeing with a passion. Natalie was awarded a MAFA Fellowship in 2019 and has been studying Deflected Doubleweave intensively including how to use in Woven Shibori.

About Workshops…
Natalie offers a one to five day workshop(s) on Weaving Deflected Doubleweave both 4 and 8 shaft, Designing in the Reed, Gradient Low-Water Immersion and Ice Dyeing, Building a Color Wheel with Ice Dyeing. Ikat Shibori with Ice Dyeing and Tannin and Ice Dyeing are other intensive workshops. Workshops can be taken separately or combined in a series and are taught in-person or by zoom.

Home Studio
Natalie’s Loft Studio has been open to the public as part of an Artist Studio Tour in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This watercolor was done by Carol Phifer of Fredericksburg, Virginia in honor of NatalieWoven’s website opening. Carol’s work can be found in LibertyTown Arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
