10:00am-3:00 pm EST - A live zoom hands-on workshop on Sat *May 3! The live workshop will be recorded and focuses on methods and process. The workshop begins with powerpoint and discussion on setting up a gravity ice dye station using a deep tub/basin/sink and a rack to fit over your basin. Different scenarios will be shown to demonstrate how to achieve beautiful color using four different dyes. Following lecture, discussion, demonstration, participants will set up to ice dye two 75-100 end 4.5 yard of pre-wound rayon/tencel and/or cotton warp(s) using fiber reactive dyes/soda ash with guided support. Learn how to use the leftover muck the day after to dye an additional warp or mini-skeins.
Additional topics discussed include information from my published ice dyeing workshop monograph, colors, dye intensities, samples, and applications to weaving.
*Alternative back-up date will be Saturday, May 10 due to an immediate family member in hospice (if funeral is May 3). Please ensure that you have availability for both dates prior to registering.

Materials Needs: 4-5 Fiber Reactive Dyes, pre-wound warp(s) of 75-100 end tencel/rayon or cotton, deep tub/basin/sink, rack that fits over tub, cardboard OR rubber baseboard to contain ice, approximately 7 plus lbs ice/container/warp, and clothespins/clips. Specific material list and instructions will come 24-48 hours after registration - with a link to Dropbox. Zoom link is emailed just prior workshop.
