Ice Dyeing and Weaving Zoom Workshop April 14 and May 19-20

This workshop is designed for the experienced deflected doubleweaver who wishes to learn more about the process and yarn value produced while ice-dyeing yarn with the Dye over Ice method. April 14 will be devoted to review and discussion of ice-dyed yarn in weaving, demonstration, as well as planning and discussion of the the NEW Deflected Doubleweave 8 shaft draft (11 am - 3pm EST). The draft details will be released on April 14. Warp your loom on your own with your ice-dyed warps (and using other yarns from your stash as needed) and be ready to receive instruction and weave samples on May 19 (10am-4pm EST) to explore color, texture, and simple design with the NEW draft. Sample analysis follows on May 20 of participant work (10 am-4pm) with continued weaving and instructor feedback.

Required materials Supplied by Participant: Tencel and/or Cotton 4.5 yard warps for dyeing (5/2 or 8/2 weight), commercial weft yarns (solids of same weight), dye and soda ash powders (Waxon Studios pre-mixed), Synthropol for scouring yarn. Participants must be able to warp a loom on their own and have previously had some type of deflected doubleweave instruction! Workshop seats are not returnable as all efforts will be made to deliver recordings of workshops to participants before and after workshop!
