Design at the Loom with Gradient Dyed 4-S Deflected Doubleweave
Friday-Saturday September 5-6, 2024 10am-4pm EDT
Pre-warp your loom with a dummy warp for a 210 end 4 Shaft Deflected Doubleweave. Use your Low-Immersion and Ice Dye gradients from the July or August Workshops to learn the process of setting up your loom from front-to-back from my live demonstrations. Explore warp and weft value studies with your hand-dyed yarns as part of the design process. It is truly a design class accomplished over the course of two days and most suitable for hand-dyed yarn. A live weaving demonstration by Natalie occurs at the end of Day 2. All sessions are recorded with access for the remainder of 2025. Weaving from participants will not begin until after the workshop with support from recorded videos. A 1-hour Q and A live session is scheduled with participants in September (tentative date Tuesday, September 16 at 1:00 pm EST). Space is limited for this interactive workshop!
Requirements: 4-Shaft Weaving Loom - threaded with a dummy warp 4-S Deflected Doubleweave prior to class, 5-6 gradient dyed plant-based fibers for warp and weft of the same size (2,100 ypp or finer 8/2 weight), have taken a NatalieWoven dye workshop previously, ability to read a draft and-or work with .wif files
