Gradient Dying Stairstep Zoom Workshop May 2026

$170.00

Join me in a three day dyeing and deflected doubleweave workshop on May 1, 2 and 16, 2026. May 1 (10 am 4pm EST) focuses on testing dye colors, mixing and setting up low-water immersion gradient baths for dyeing plant-based yarns of 5/2 or 8/2 weight using fiber reactive dyes; specifically Sapphire Opal (Dalula Dye). May 2 (noon-4pm EST) will follow with a live demonstration of putting your gradient dyed warps on your loom and designing with gradients front-to-back for this 8-shaft Deflected Doubleweave Stairstep (Design in the Reed or Tie on to a Dummy Warp). Participants will examine color of a previously dyed or commercial warp needed to dress their loom. Note: See materials needed below as warps or skeins from the previous dye day do not have to be washed and dry yet. All 8-shaft looms should be dressed by participants prior to May 16 (10am-4 pm) to weave traditional stairstep and explore Rosepath block treadling with shuttle manipulation following powerpoint and live demonstration! A mini-dye kit comes with your purchase with mailing in the US. Participants outside the US must add-on additional $20.00 postage to the cart prior to checking out.
